IP Ratings

IP ratings show the tested level of dust and water resistance for a device enclosure.

Meaning

What It Means

An IP rating has two digits. The first relates to solid particles like dust, and the second relates to water exposure.

It helps compare durability, but water resistance is not the same as complete waterproofing in every situation.
